Mobile App Development
Native-quality apps for iOS and Android from a single codebase
NOTchip builds cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and Expo. We deliver apps that feel native — smooth animations, fast startup, and full access to device capabilities — without the cost of maintaining separate iOS and Android codebases.
One codebase covering both stores means every feature is built once, every bug is fixed once, and your budget goes into product instead of duplication. When a feature genuinely needs native code — camera pipelines, heavy image processing, platform APIs — we write thin Swift and Kotlin modules rather than abandoning the stack. We open-sourced one of them: expo-panoramic-stitcher wraps OpenCV's panorama pipeline in an Expo module with a single TypeScript API.
Our mobile apps are offline-first by default. FieldDojo runs 16+ trade calculators with local SQLite history on job sites with no signal; Wageasy generates GST-compliant invoice PDFs entirely on-device. If your users can't rely on connectivity, neither should your app.

Pricing
Typical mobile builds land between $10k and $50k depending on scope — a focused single-purpose app sits at the lower end, a product with a custom backend, auth, and payments toward the upper. Every project is quoted as fixed-price milestones, never open-ended time and materials.
How It Works
- 01
Scope & architecture
We define the feature set, offline strategy, and data model before any code. You get a milestone plan with fixed pricing per phase.
- 02
Design & prototype
Wireframes and interactive prototypes first — every screen approved before development starts.
- 03
Build in weekly milestones
Working builds on your device every two weeks via TestFlight and internal testing tracks. Weekly demos keep progress visible.
- 04
Device QA & store submission
Physical-device testing on iOS and Android — keyboard behavior, offline flows, push notifications. We handle App Store and Play Store review, metadata, and screenshots.
- 05
Post-launch support
OTA updates for fixes that can skip store review, crash monitoring, and an optional maintenance retainer.
Common Questions
Why React Native instead of separate native apps?
A React Native app shares 80–90% of its code between iOS and Android — business logic, navigation, data, and most screens. You pay for one team and one codebase instead of two, and for the vast majority of products the result is indistinguishable from native. When a feature truly needs native code, we write a thin native module instead of switching stacks.
Will the app work offline?
Yes — we architect offline-first by default, with on-device databases (SQLite) and sync when connectivity returns. Both FieldDojo and Wageasy are fully functional with no connection.
Do you handle App Store and Play Store submission?
Yes. Store accounts are created under your ownership, and we handle build signing, review submission, metadata, and screenshots. You own the listings from day one.
Who owns the code?
You do — 100%, from day one. We push to repositories you own. No vendor lock-in, no licensing fees.
