MVP Development for Startups

Validate your idea fast with a production-quality MVP

NOTchip helps startups go from idea to launched product in weeks, not months. We build MVPs that are good enough to acquire real users and robust enough to scale when traction arrives. No throwaway prototypes — we build foundations you can grow on.

The discipline is in the scoping: an MVP exists to test one hypothesis, and every feature that doesn't serve that test is runway burned without signal. Week one produces three artifacts — the core hypothesis, the minimum feature set, and the cut list. The cut list isn't a graveyard; it's the backlog you fund with evidence.

We work on fixed-price milestones, not retainers. You approve each phase before paying for the next, and a typical MVP ships in 8–10 weeks. If your scope can't ship in that window, we'll tell you before we start — not at week twelve.

Pricing

Honest bands: $5k–$10k for a focused single-purpose app on managed services; $10k–$25k for a cross-platform product with auth, database, and a custom API; $25k–$50k for two-sided or compliance-heavy products. Above that, you're building a v1, not an MVP — different plan.

How It Works

  1. 01

    Hypothesis & scope (weeks 1–2)

Core hypothesis, minimum feature set, cut list, and stack decisions — agreed and priced before code.

  2. 02

    Build (weeks 3–8)

Milestone deliveries with weekly demos. You test real builds biweekly, on your own devices.

  3. 03

    Launch (weeks 8–10)

Store submission or web deployment, plus analytics wired directly to the hypothesis you're testing.

  4. 04

    Measure & decide

Four to six weeks of real usage data, then an honest conversation: double down, pivot, or stop.

Common Questions

How much does an MVP cost?

Most land between $10k and $25k — a cross-platform app with auth, a database, and a custom API. A focused single-purpose tool can be $5k–$10k; marketplaces and fintech with compliance logic run $25k–$50k. Always fixed-price milestones, never open-ended billing.

How fast can we launch?

8–10 weeks is the standard arc: two weeks of scoping and architecture, six of building in weekly milestones, and one to two for store submission or deployment. If a scope can't fit that window, we say so upfront.

Is the MVP throwaway code?

No. We build on the same production stack as our long-term projects — React Native, Next.js, typed APIs. FieldDojo started as an MVP-shaped build and grew a backend and Pro tier on the same foundation.

What happens after launch?

The MVP's job starts at launch: analytics tied to your hypothesis produce the evidence for the next decision. From there you can keep building with us, take it in-house (we help with handoff), or stop — and we'll give you our honest read either way.
